Clavis is Latin for key, taken from Clavis Aurea, the top wine of Quinta do Casal Monteiro: our teacher and largest supplier. Since 2012 we have imported wines exclusively from family estates that keep everything in their own hands, from vine to bottling. What we add to that is an unbroken cold chain and a price that leaves the trade its margin.

Clavis was founded in 2012 by John de Bruijn and Pleun de Bruijn. Since that day we have been present in person at every winery, at every bottling and at every delivery. The brand promises what the warehouse delivers.
